BRIAN CHRISTIAN - BRANSON SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATE

The following survey questions were sent to all 2024 candidates.

This was Brian Christian's response:

1. What prompted you to run for this position?

I was inspired by the “Moms for America” legacy awards gala in Branson on March 24, 2023, and was impressed with their school board activism. I have four children in the school system. With my background in music and private education, I am passionate about teaching and the arts.

2. What are your goals for the Branson School District if elected?

I would advocate for the expansion of classical music practice, especially the increase of string instrument performance. I support the continuing education and professional development of teachers, the exploration of more teaching methods for students with special needs, the minimizing of federal influence in favor of state and local governance, preparation for another pandemic and minimizing its draconian governmental responses, and maintaining the physical and mental health of students and employees.

3. What is the #1 issue you hope to address if elected?

My top priority would be to keep Cultural Marxism out of the curriculum. This includes radical gender ideology, critical race theory, and other

utopian ideologies. We seek equality of opportunity without guaranteeing equality of results.

4. On a scale of 1 to 5 (poor to excellent), how would you rate the transparency and communication of Branson's current Board of Education?

I would give the board a 5.

5. Is there anything you want to change or improve in that regard?

Although the quarterly financial reports for the school system are easily available online, it would be helpful if the expenditures were explained more thoroughly so that taxpayers could understand how their money was being spent. This is not necessarily the responsibility of the school board, but I am taking the opportunity to mention it here.

6. Branson's long-standing culture has been one of patriotism, Christianity, and family values; how would you support or change this culture as a Branson School Board Director?

I support the ten commandments as interpreted by the larger Westminster catechism as an active foundation and guide for public policy. In terms of family values, I support parental rights and the school system's ongoing efforts to encourage parental participation, such as the

"parents as teachers" program and the "good dads" events. As the federal government seems to drift away from advocating for Christian family

values and small-town America, and tends towards questionable elections and a lack of accountability, we need to emphasize state and local

government while minimizing federal influence. We need more state and local laws like Missouri HB 85, but applied to many more areas aside

from gun control.

7. How would you define your political affiliation? Democrat, Republican, or other?

I am nonpartisan.
