WHO GOES WHERE?
Branson is divided into three “wards” which is an official sounding word for “section”. Each ward elects two of their residents to represent that specific section of town as aldermen, making a total of six aldermen.
Every other year, all wards vote collectively to elect the mayor for a two year term.
Branson currently has a population of apx 11,765 people, but the population was only 1200 at the time it was incorporated in 1912. According to Missouri state statutes that meant Branson was officially incorporated as a “4th class municipality”.
Each year, each ward elects one alderman to serve a two year term.
This means there is almost always someone campaigning or considering it. It’s important to know who’s running and help raise voter awareness within your neighborhood.
